Really enjoyed the Wrestling matches. Lots of people from all over PA. Good conversations.
This was the worst possible venue for a youth wrestling tournament. It took almost 2 hours to get wrestlers in the door through security. Some security staff discarded all food and drink they found in wrestlers bags while other security staff did not care. My one son got all of his snacks thrown out while my other was able to get through with his snacks. I think it is absurd for a youth tournament that no food or drink can be brought into the venue when you are there for a timeframe of 7am-4pm or sometimes longer. Concessions consisted of burnt breakfast sandwiches, bagel and cream cheese, chicken finger and fries, nachos, pretzels. None of which is healthy for a child to eat for two days not to mention the price of buying concessions for a family of 4.
I loved BJC but Saturday was entirely too long both for the wrestlers and fans. Please try to arrange schedule differently even if you have to move something to Sunday
Lines were ridiculous to get in Food prices were astronomical
You need to separate the girls and boys. It was too long having both. We were to start at 2 and never did. We were in the cons and never wresting until 11.
The bryce was a great venue to host a state wrestling tournament due to its size and central location in the state. Now for the bad the Bryce jordan center should of used all the the gates to let attendees and participants into the venue and not just Gates A&B. On top of only using two gates, wrestlers and coaches had to go through Gate A for bag screening which wasn't terrible but only alloting 1 hr to get every wrestler and coach through was not smart. It turned into almost a two hr wait to get in and then the tournament had to push the start of wrestling back both days because of the problems at the gates. The second issue was that there was no food or drinks after 10pm. My thought is if you have participants and spectators still in the stands at 10 pm and wrestling till almost midnight the concessions should stay open as well especially if the Bryce isnt going to allow people to bring in their own food and drinks!
Very expensive and slow.Everything overpriced, nothing went on time.
The entry process into the building was just not well thought out. Should of had multiple entry points to get no reason anyone should have to sit in a line for 40 minutes to enter.
Parking was $5.50.....that was expected..no big deal. $30 per day or $55 for the weekend was ridiculous for the wrestling venue. Then, inside.....$5 for a soda and it goes up from there. If you go into cashless vending area....a hold is put on your card. Overall, nice venue......won't be back due to cost.
