Washington Wizards History
Founded in 1961, the Washington Wizards franchise has called Chicago, Baltimore, Landover, Maryland. and Washington, D.C. home. Known earlier as the Packers, Zephyrs and Bullets, the franchise changed its name to the Wizards in 1997.
After earning two playoff appearances in their first five seasons in Baltimore, the team started a formidable run of postseason success starting in the 1968–69 season. Led by Hall of Famers Earl Monroe and Wes Unseld (and later Elvin Hayes), the Bullets went to the playoffs 12 seasons in a row, including four trips to the Finals and a championship in 1978. Behind an MVP performance from Unseld, Washington defeated Seattle in a decisive Game 7 to clinch the title.
Five consecutive postseason appearances highlighted the Bullets’ 80s. The franchise bounced back in the early 2000s, built around the core of Gilbert Arenas, Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler. That trio led Washington to four straight playoff appearances from 2005–2008. Since then, the Wizards have qualified for the postseason five times behind All-Stars John Wall and Bradley Beal, the latter of which became one of six players in NBA history to average 30-plus points per game in back-to-back seasons.

The seats were a last minute purchase but oh what a treat. The Wizards hosted the Sacramento Kings who were jockeying for a playoff position. They had everything to play for, but the young Wizards gave them all they could handle and gave us a glimpse into the future! I've been a Bullets/Wizards fan since 1975 and I long for the winning seasons with Wes Unseld and Evlin Hayes in the 70s and 80s, Chris Webber, Rob Strickland and Juwan Howard in the 90s, Gilbert Arenas, Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler in the 2000s, and the uptempo pace of John Wall and Bradley Beal in the 2010s. We are a franchise thirsting for the madness of the playoffs and I hope this young nucleus can deliver it soon.
Game was OK, Wizards are not a team currently. PA system is way to loud and prices of food & drink are outrageous.
The game was pretty good. The venue didn’t have great signage for seating and the food selection was pretty bad compared to other venues I’ve been to and I’m not looking for gourmet meals. I’d go back but only because of proximity.
The Wizards game was good but the TI show was bad because the sound system used. It would have been a great show. If TI was able to use the stadium sound system. Please let the entertainers use the sound system for a better show!
I absolutely loved my seats. I felt I spent a good price for what I received. I had the best view of the game. I did not have to be super close to have a good time. I will look for an opportunity to come back each year.
Great seats. Kinda tall so next time i’ll try to get front row or something. Other than that and the whole “Ice Trae” thing. The whole Jordan Poole turning the ball over more than fkng tetherball thing. and Sarr not playing. It was still kinda fun. Home team for life.
Capital One Arena is really a great venue for basketball games. No bad seats really and I was in section 109, great view!
Hands down the best event I've attended and I loved supporting DCs GoGo music. The GoGo was better than the game because we lost. Will come back for more nights like this.
I really enjoyed my time watching the even though we didn't secure the win. The after the show performance made the lose a little more bearable...
