  • Simply Awesome

by No Nickname ; ) on 6/3/25Ludlow Garage Cincinnati - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

Probably the preeminent fusionish guitarist coming up today. I would see him again. Band was super talented and tight.

  • Very talented artist

Love the venue. Ludlow Garage was a total surprise to me. The volume was a bit too loud. If you love electric guitar instrumental only then this is for you. I found it somewhat repetitive. Matteo is very gifted. I hoped he would do something acoustic but no. I don’t know his music so I missed out on the vibe of familiarity. Played 90 minutes so that was plenty for me.

  • Absolutely Fantastic

Catch this show! I drove from Knoxville to Cincinnati and brought the fam. Matteo is all that and more. It was simply incredible to be in the same room with this trio and have this shared experience. A forever memory for me. Can’t wait to catch MM again!!! Thanks Matteo, Riccardo & Gianluca for making it to the US!

  • Matteo Mancuso is phenomenal!

by Robert on 5/31/25The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red BankRating: 5 out of 5

Saw Matteo Mancuso at the Vogel in Red Bank, NJ. First of all the venue is outstanding…a perfect place to see an act up close and personal. Matteo is an artist that combines jazz, rock and blues to create an exciting and memorable concert experience. As Joe Bonamassa says Matteo has “reinvented guitar”. I got to see one of guitars future greatest virtuosos. Find out where he is on his first NA tour and go see him in person.

  • Amazing show!

We cannot say enough great things about Matteo and his band. They were so incredibly skilled. They all made it look incredibly easy, the fact that this guys can play without a guitar pick so well is unbelievable. This guy is going to be world renowned. So happy to see him in the beginning.

  • The future of guitar

by Weeze on 5/26/25The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red BankRating: 5 out of 5

Incredibly talented individual. The discerning ear can hear his influences, yet the music he plays is all his own . He has unmistakable feel, personality that is unique and unmatched . Not sure how he could improve, but I want a front row seat from here on out with this fine gentleman! Do not miss his performance! One for the books! I haven’t said that lately about anyone else… just incredibly perfect!

What a treat to see Matteo and his band live! Congrats to them on their first U.S. tour. I had a front row seat right in front of Matteo at the show, and watching his unique pick-less style of playing channel his jazz fusion musicology took me back to watching Stanley Jordan from the same vantage point nearly 50 years ago. Wow. Best wishes for a long beautiful career, Matteo!

  • Electric Guitarist Matteo Mancuso

by Third Guy from the Sun on 5/24/25Brooklyn Bowl - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

Hearing and seeing Matteo Mancuso live - as legendary Classical conductor, Toscanini, famously said - is to witness talent "one hears once in a hundred years". More specifically, to see him is to see the evolution of the electric guitar, and the evolution of all guitarists, since Matteo has effectively united the guitar 'kingdoms' (all major styles of acoustic and electric guitar) with his otherworldly yet simultaneously very traditional bridge-hand technique. I say "traditional"because Matteo's bridge-hand method is an innovation only as far as its application to the electric guitar. Previous players have managed fingerstyle electric guitar, but to far less degrees of technical proficiency. Matteo has efficiently and effectively combined the bridge-hand single-note techniques of Classical and Flamenco guitar with that of electric Bass into an awesome musical device which has taken the electric guitar into new musical territories. Chordal explorations with this "new"technique have yet to be seen, as Matteo is largely a single-note virtuoso. Therefore, what's truly significant about this "new"thing Matteo has managed is the door now wide open for nearly any and all acoustic guitar players who have ever wanted to play electric guitar, but didn't do so because of the plectrum aka the guitar pick. Now there is no such barrier. Amen. Note: I'd had given the show a 9/10 - not allowed in the rating system here - simply because Matteo's clean sound was barely audible at times.
