About

For her hotly anticipated sophomore album, Nashville songstress Nikki Lane teamed up with Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys for a record that turns the vulnerable singer-songwriter stereotype on its ears. With songs that crucify ex-boyfriends, celebrate one-night stands (as long as she can bolt town right after) and proclaim that it’s “always the right time to do the wrong thing,” Lane comes across like a modern-era Wanda Jackson, albeit with more oats to sow. “My songs always paint a pretty clear picture of what’s been going on in my life, so this is one moody record,” she says. “There’s lots of talk of misbehaving and moving on.”

  • Terrible

by opening act for Chris Stapleton on 10/19/23Rating: 1 out of 5

Too loud and the poor girl can’t sing. Don’t know what Chris Stapleton was thinking.

  • Amazing

    by L. L. on 10/6/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I saw Nikki Lane open for Lana Del Rey and her set was amazing. I had never heard her before but her set made me a fan. Her voice sounds even more incredible live, if that’s possible. I will be seeing her again in the future!

  • She’s SO good

by Jmay on 9/24/23Madrid Theatre - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

Love her. Her voice is so calming and organic. Her band is so fun and they ALL sound amazing live! This was our 2nd time seeing her and we will definitely see her again and again! Xoxo

  • Too Loud

by Knoxranch on 9/24/23Madrid Theatre - Kansas CityRating: 2 out of 5

I was looking forward to Nikki Lane. I like her voice and music. However, band was so loud that I had to wear earplugs. Her voice couldn't compete with the volume of the band. The opening act, Katy Guillion and the Drive were also excessively loud. Madrid is generally GA, so standing on a concrete floor for 2 hours or more is excruciating for anyone with knee or back issues. They should consider having some seating on the main floor. They have limited seating upstairs, but for this show it was reserved and not open to the public. We left before the show was over.

  • Left early-Poor sound quality

by seat snob on 9/24/23Madrid Theatre - Kansas CityRating: 2 out of 5

Clearly Nikki is a talented singer and her band is great too, but the sound at this event was awful. The voices were drowned out by the instruments and sound was bouncing all over the room. This goes for the opening act as well. I don't know if it was the venue (The Madrid) or the sound system that made this a horrible experience. The Madrid typically has GA standing only shows. Most of us over 40 can't stand for three plus hours. Given the sound didnt get better when Nikki took the stage and we'd been standing for two hours already, we left after Nikki sang about five or six songs.

  • Not great

by Fan on 12/5/22Bowery Ballroom - New YorkRating: 2 out of 5

The show started way too late and they only played for an hour. No encore

  • Nikki Lane is the whole package!

    by Bandits5 on 12/5/22Bowery Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

From the moment Nikki Lane and her band took the stage at the Bowery Ballroom she delivered song after song with a rollicking abandon and tight chops. Her down to earth stage banter between songs gives insight to her rich and accomplished background. Having her mom come onstage to sing a duet was a real treat!

  • A little bit of country...

by Cho Cho on 12/5/22Bowery Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

A perfect night I hope Nikki Lane comes back to New York soon what a talent!

  • Real Country

by Weirdsin on 11/22/22Avondale Brewing Co. - BirminghamRating: 4 out of 5

Small crowd made it great. Stage and columns in front making clear view impossible. Venue needs work.
