About

Patty Griffin is among the most consequential singer-songwriters of her generation, a quintessentially American artist whose wide-ranging canon incisively explores the intimate moments and universal emotions that bind us together.

Over two decades, the 2x GRAMMY Award winner - and 7x nominee - and Americana Music Association Lifetime Achievement award winner, has crafted a remarkable body of work in progress that prompted the New York Times to hail her for "[writing] cameo-carved songs that create complete emotional portraits of specific people...[her] songs have independent lives that continue in your head when the music ends."

2019 saw the acclaimed release of the renowned artist's GRAMMY Award-winning 10th studio recording, PATTY GRIFFIN. One of the most deeply personal recordings of Griffin's remarkable two-decade career and first-ever eponymous LP, PATTY GRIFFIN made a top 5 debut on Billboard's "Independent Albums" chart amidst unprecedented worldwide acclaim, and later, a prestigious GRAMMY Award for "Best Folk Album."

Griffin's new album, CROWN OF ROSES, is a deeply personal and introspective work that explores themes of identity, nature, family, and womanhood. Emerging from a creative drought during the pandemic, Griffin found herself re-evaluating the stories she'd long told herself. The result is an eight-track collection that is both sparse and emotionally rich, blending folk, Americana, and blues. With CROWN OF ROSES, Griffin offers a record that's both grounded and transcendent -- one that invites listeners to release old narratives, embrace new truths, and stay truly alive while they're here. Having crafted a rich catalog that chronicles love and death, heartache and joy, connection and detachment, Patty Griffin continues to push her art forward, as always imbuing every effort with compassion and craft, uncanny perception, and ever-increasing ingenuity.

  • An acoustic gem of an evening

by JWAMA on 11/20/24Rialto Square Theatre - JolietRating: 4 out of 5

Really nice show with three very talented musicians. Tge sound in the theater was so very, very good. The Rialto is a great venue for an evening of acoustic guitar playing. Lori McKennas song “People get Old” was a perfect opening tune based on the crowd. The song is an all time best!

  • Final Night of the Tour

by JJ on 11/19/24Rialto Square Theatre - JolietRating: 4 out of 5

Let me start by saying, "I love Patty Griffin", however, I was disappointed with the show at the Rialto Square theater this past Saturday, 11/16. Her voice, her guitar playing was perfect...I was not a huge fan of her song selections. The bright spot(s) of the evening was/were Lori McKenna & Hayes Carll. I have music by both artists so I was familiar with their songs. Both of them knocked it out of the park for me. It was a great night in Joliet, beautiful venue with easy in & out parking. I drove 5 hours round trip to get to the show and I'd do it again tomorrow...the whole time wishing for better song choices by the headliner.

  • Great venue

by Tina on 11/19/24Rialto Square Theatre - JolietRating: 5 out of 5

This venue was cozy and intimate. The way the performers, artists, were sitting on the stage, made you feel like you were in their living room listening to a jam session. I loved it so much!

  • Great music and fun stories

by Bosco Mama on 11/19/24Rialto Square Theatre - JolietRating: 4 out of 5

It was fun to hang out with three immensely talented singer songwriters as they shared stories and played some of their best songs. The Rialto Square theater has been meticulously restored… what a gem!

  • great music

by m9 on 11/18/24Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts - BloomingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Three great writer/musicians for the price of one! A relaxed concert that went by far too quickly. The music was clear and enjoyable. Great stories from the three performers who appeared to enjoy sharing thier craft with the audience. Patty's voice was beautiful as always.

  • Patty Grifton

by Captain Don Juan on 11/12/24Old National Centre - IndianapolisRating: 2 out of 5

Patty sounded more or less her usual unique and talented self... On every third song! A little bit of a vape in switch with the given performance. Her two stage partners were all fine and dandy, but it felt obvious to me that Patty was the headliner and expected at least a full set from her and not a sit-down round table of every third song. It would have been nice to know this prior to the show, but I guess that wouldn't have sold as many tickets for The master of tickets.

  • It was meh...

by Red on 11/12/24Kalamazoo State Theatre - KalamazooRating: 2 out of 5

When I bought the tickets, I expected each artist to do a set. However, all three artists appeared together and played one song in a rotation. It was awkward for the artists and the audience. Lots of talk and very little music. If you are looking for a night reminiscent of a musician jam session, this is for you. If you want to hear music, not so much...

  • Poor Performance.

by Zero on 11/12/24Kalamazoo State Theatre - KalamazooRating: 1 out of 5

Patty has fought against cancer and her voice has suffered because of it. However poor song choices were the worst part of the show, plus her political grievances put in the mix. I have seen her many times, love her records and her voice. This was the worst show ever.

  • Loved the show

by Joyce on 11/11/24Old National Centre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the interaction between the three performers and their interaction with the audience. Fabulous musicians and singers. LOVED IT!

A fine night of song writers sitting telling stories and playing music! They were having fun and so did I.
