STICK FIGURE IN CONCERT:
SoCal dub reggae outfit Stick Figure has been steadily on the rise for the past decade, but they truly arrived in 2015 with Set in Stone, a critical masterstroke that topped both the Reggae and Heatseekers Albums charts. The project began as the one-man band of singer and multi-instrumentalist Scott Woodruff, but ever since the success of 2012's Burial Ground (No. 1 on the Indie charts) Woodruff has been on the road with a full band that helps bring his laid-back jams to trippy new heights. Their live shows feature upbeat reggae guitar riffs, dub bass grooves, relaxed vocal harmonies, and the good vibes of the band's dog Cocoa, who chills on stage during their sets. It's a total party anytime Stick Figure kicks out irie jams like "Hawaii Song" and "Smokin' Love", and ticket buyers can't help but get swept up in the feel-good island vibes.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Scott Woodruff started writing, performing, and recording albums in the mid-'00s under the name Stick Figure, a nod to his high school nickname. His sophomore album Burnin' Ocean was named one of the Top 10 Best Reggae Albums of 2008 by iTunes, and in 2009 his third album Smoke Stack cracked the Top 10 on Billboard's Reggae Albums chart. After relocating to San Diego Woodruff started recording and performing with a full band, and in 2012 the group found success with Burial Ground, a No. 1 on the Indie charts that drew them out for extensive touring. Since then they've hit the road in support of acts like Rebelution and The Green while also impressing on headlining tours of their own. Stick Figure's 2015 album Set in Stone marked their first No. 1 on the Reggae Albums chart, a huge milestone that has their loyal fans ready to celebrate at the band's upcoming shows.
Beautiful time at Corning California with Stick figure and Stephen Marley. Absolutely amazing show and great atmosphere. Definitely I would go back to see them again ❤️.
Light show was breathtaking the vibe every song was great.
Saw Stick Figure in Mansfield Massachusetts summer 2024. I was waiting for them to come perform on the east coast for a few years after discovering them. I was so excited my DREAM CAME TRUE and they did not disappoint!! Unbelievable performance/experience!!!!! I even snuck down to the very front of the stage. What a great show with great people all vibing together. The tailgate parking lot party was also much fun. Food, drinking, good people from all around & the sweet aroma of ganja everywhere. No troubles whatsoever at all, just good people enjoying thier favorite-STICK FIGURE!! Next time I will pay extra to mingle with band before concert and I won’t need to sneak to the front, haha!!!
Saw SF at Red Rocks last yr. Most magical time of my life. Can’t wait to go back this year! Praying they tour🙏🙏
Best feel good concert for all. Must see and hope you come back to MA in 2025! Reminded me of a Dead show. Such positive vibes. Loved.
I accidentally stumbled across Stick Figure about 3 years ago. Since that day, I knew they’d be a daily occurrence. I seen them in VA Beach and out of the concerts I’ve been to, they take the cake. Seen TOOL twice, RHCP, Stones, Staind and Seether and these dudes can hang with all of them. Keep it up and come back!! I can’t wait to see you front and center. Legends. End of story
Love this group! When are you coming to NY???? Love reggae.
I’ve been to many concerts of different genres but this show was top! Second time seeing Stick Figure and this blew away the first. The crowd, the vibe, the music. Great experience
Stick Figure put on an awesome show! We loved the high energy of this concert with great visual effects with laser lights and fire, we enjoyed hearing some of our favorite songs as well as some songs we were not as familiar with.
I haven't been to a concert in a very long time. Good friends of ours said if you are going to a concert, Stick Figure puts on one of the best they have ever seen, so we made it a 60th birthday event for my boyfriend. They were right. Stick did not disappoint! Great sound. I heard every one of my favorite lyrics. The lighting and video effects were awesome. Was it hot in August in West Palm Beach.... OF COURSE, I live in Florida I am used to being hot and sweating, but the crowd was chill and friendly, The Stick family were a great group to be in company with. If it's logistically possible to put out large fire fans to move more air in the stands it would have been perfect! Other than that zero complaints, parking, vendors, and bathrooms were efficiently run. I would definitely go see Stick Figure again and again.
