Gillian Welch & David Rawlings Tickets

This was my first time seeing them live. It was an excellent concert, with Gillian and Dave accompanied by Paul Kowert on upright bassist on some songs. I went in knowing some of the material and enjoyed everything they played. I've always really liked Dave Rawlings' playing, but I was completely blown away at this gig - so melodic, tasteful, and closely outlining the harmonies. and all on that same modest acoustic guitar. They did two encores. The Wang Theater in Boston is a beautiful venue which enhances the overall experience. I'm so glad that I bought tickets for this show.

Attending the Gillian Welch and David Rawlings performance was like spending an evening with a musical family. They were so warm and cordial and they bantered with the crowd all night long. They played two beautiful sets and three encores that covered everything old and new. It seemed like they didn't want to leave and the warmhearted crowd just fed off of them. It was a wonderful evening of amazing music. I'll see Gillian and Dave anytime they choose to visit the Greater Boston area. Thanks!

Perfect venue to enjoy this incredible duo. Set list a wonderful mix of old favorites and new treasures from Woodland Studios album. Dave Rawlings is next level on the guitar, and Gillian Welch is captivating as ever. No opener, two encores. Generous and gifted musicians. A joy to behold!

A good friend of mine, Mark N from Asheville gave me 2 tickets because he was out of town for the rescheduled date. I know of the duo from recordings but hadn't had the pleasure of seeing them preform live. What a treat. The entire audience seemed to be made up of superfans - applauding and hooting in recognition from the second note of each song then, raucous applause at the end. This may well be normal for this tour but I couldn't help but compare it to the crowds I see in Greenville, where I'm from. We're more passive spectators. This was obviously a show that the Asheville folks had been looking forward to for a very long time. They seemed like encouraging friends of the pair on stage. Maybe they're all musicians. having WNCW as the local station probably helps but combined with the regional aesthetic of earthy individualism is a perfect match for the sounds and emotions coming from the stage. What a relief/release after all that area has been through. Bravo Gillain, David and Asheville! Me & my daughter thoroughly enjoyed the entire scene.

Both Gillian and David outdid themselves! Their singing and guitar playing were exceptional, not to mention banjo and harmonica playing! They surprised the audience with a couple Grateful Dead tunes, and one classic Jefferson Airplane hit, White Rabbit, which they blew everyone away with. So much fun!!

The strength of the show that Gillian and David perform is 100% them. They had no backing musicians, only the two of them. It was like something from a dream seeing them, hearing their music, hearing them speak and it only made us love them more. It was a performance that made us feel that no matter what, we saw the best. It was a gift from the music gods and we felt nothing but gratitude that we were able to witness it. It was a privilege!

It was the first time I’ve seen Gillian Welsh, and David Rollins and I really enjoyed it! One of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time. Highly recommend.
