Needed an encore
by Jordan on 11/24/24Bayou Music Center - HoustonRating: 3 out of 5This venue (Bayou music hall) is amazing. The sound is great and it gives an intimate feeling with the band you're there to see. My only complaint is their curfew... I guess they have a no encore policy.
Manchester Orchestra was touring with Thrice. I new Thrice was more of a rock band, so it didn't surprise me that Manchester Orchestra played more of their heavier songs... But I still expected to hear their most popular songs. Instead of performing 2 of my favorite songs from them, they did a little mashup for a few seconds of several of their songs like an homage... Then they played Bed Head and just left. No encore, almost no crowd interaction. Just over...
The music sounded great, but their performance felt like an opening act, like they had to rush through the setlist and get off stage ASAP. It left me feeling very unsatisfied. I definitely had higher expectations. At the very least, I expected to hear The Silence. Heartbreaking that they didn't play it. Half of the crowd couldn't believe it was over until the lights came on and they started playing house music and breaking down the equipment on stage.
Decent show, but it just felt rushed and left me disappointed.
